A Message from the President
During the last sixty or more years, Korea has achieved extraordinarily fast economic growth, it is sometimes called the "Han Miracle" and overcome the so-called "Middle Income Trap," However, Korea still has a long way to join truly advanced countries. We have to upgrade the national vision after this era of rapid industrialization and democratization, explore urgent reform agendas, and work out appropriate strategies for an even greater future.

The Hansun Foundation has established Korea's new vision as the advancement of Korea to the level of first-rate countries, and for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula. With this vision successfully accomplished, Korea would be one of the most dynamic, resilient and peaceful countries in the world.

To this end, Hansun strives to produce high-quality and independent research about controversial policy issues, develop innovative yet practical suggestions, and to initiate core reforms based on our extensive expert network. In particular, we are determined to fight against populism, rent-seeking, log-rolling, and pork-barrel politics, and agency maximands. We also conduct diverse educational programs for youngsters and opinion leaders, as well as the general public, to disseminate our vision for a positive future, present our research findings, and organize reform initiatives.

What and how we will do in the over the decades to come might determine Korea's destiny. With this in mind, we endeavor to welcome and partner with those who sympathize with our vision as long as they respect democracy, human rights, the market economy and the rule of law.

Impartiality, pragmatism and rationality are the three main pillars of Hansun's core principles. We refuse to support a particular faction for political gain, avoid armchair speculation and argument, and do not accept majority opinions without well-founded reason, supported by facts.

I ask you all to put your faith in Hansun and support or work together with us. Let us move into a new era for a truly advanced Korean Peninsula.
