Summary
Looking back on South Korea’s 70 years of development, we have invested in our citizens to build the capacity and influence to face national crises as opportunities for growth. Thus overcoming national crises would have been difficult without an investment in our citizens and a strong foundation of education. To keep up with the needs of Korea’s future, it is necessary to boldly change the contents and methods of Korea’s education. Through this book, albeit insufficient, we wish to raise a discussion on strategies for the future Korea’s education.

First, strategies for the reforming Korea’s education must become central to overcoming various crises and achieving advancement and reunification.

Second, the core of educational reform is raising talented individuals that our future society requires. Characteristic of this future society is the cooperation of people from diverse cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and religious background. Therefore, promoting the capacity to survive and thrive in a global 21st century environment is key. Also important, the development of digital technology must be an important consideration in reforming education.
