The Korean press’ advancement strategy takes basis on our society’s philosophical and ideological evidence on ‘market economic democracy’. For this idea, we must create a media system that rejects the disproportional and ineffective press, broadcast, and information communication field, one that is small but strong and can correctly perform the fundamental functions of the press. This work suggests a political strategy to advance the Korean media system. The 5 major tasks include ‘reorganization of Korea’s press policy’, ‘equal development of terrestrial broadcasting stations’, ‘broadcast communication amalgamation and settlement of Korea Communications Commission’, ‘institutional modification of portal and internet media’, and ‘developing reorganization of advertisement industry’.
