The [Liberalism] that we emphasize is the [principle of individual development] and the [principle of national development]. Individual development comes only with freedom. Originally, happiness of humanity is not individual but communal. True happiness exists in a world of [relationship with others], not in a [world of myself], isolated from the neighbors. Human beings feel happiness in a healthy community and feel misfortune in a sick community. National unification is possible only when there is respect to [communal value and solidarity], thus having a healthy community. Communitarian Liberalism, which is defined ‘Liberalism that values community’, avoids selfish, exclusive, and permissive freedom but claims Liberalism that asks for consideration, love, and dignity.
