“The Hansun Foundation dreams of the 22nd century where the Korean people will credit their high standards of living in a fully developed World-Class nation to their forefathers who pioneered the Sunjinwha movement in the early 21st century”.

Sunjinhwa of the Korean Peninsular

  The Hansun Foundation for Freedom and Happiness was established to promote Sunjinhwa of the Korean peninsular, i.e., preparing Korea to become a reunified and advanced World-Class Nation. As a non-partisan independent research and academic institute, we endeavor to contribute to the reunification of the divided Korea and the advancement of Korea into the First-Class Nation in the 21st century. While these two goals are being pursued, our foundation will also strive to make Korea become one of the role model nations contributing to the enhancement of global peace, freedom, and happiness.

Mission Statement

  Since early 1960s Korea has successfully accomplished the first take-off of her nation building, called, Gundaehwa (modernization), and became an industrialized middle- income nation with semi-fledged democracy. Now, in the beginning of the 21st century, Korea is entering into the second take-off, called, Sunjinhwa (advancement) to become a world class nation, a fully developed and advanced nation, not only in political and economic sphere but also in social and cultural field.

  Since its inauguration on June 30, 2006, the Hansun Foundation has pioneered in proposing Sunjinwha as a new national vision and goal of Korea in the 21st century and has strived to develop national strategies and formulate government’s policies for the achievement of Sunjinhwa. The foundation has three departments - the Hansun Think Tank, the Hansun Academy, and the Hansun Community Movement.

  The Think Tank is carrying out in-depth research on new visions and strategies for Sunjinhwa and formulation of public policies for its accomplishment. In our every research we try to uphold the highest level of academic expertise and intellectual integrity. The Academy is designed to communicate the research outcome of the Think Tank with general public and government’s officers by distinguished lectures and seminars, especially focusing on young generation. The Community Movement based on communitarian liberalism is to raise people’s awareness regarding the importance of community value and tie for Korea to become a fully developed advanced nation
